Charlotte wore a attractive red coat with gray tights, red shoes and a red bow in her hair.

Princess Charlotte starts nursery school today, and to mark the occasion, Kate Middleton generously took and shared two photos of her daughter.

Pictures taken by her pregnant mother showed the smiling two-year-old outside her home before she set off to begin at the private Willcocks Nursery School in Kensington.

Charlotte is starting nursery school at two years old, and the tuition at this place is literally as much as many people's salaries: £14,550, which works out to about $19,750.

Charlotte won't wear a uniform and will need to bring a lunch box from home at Willcocks, where her schedule will be jam-packed. Adding a red bow, Charlotte also sported a pale pink knit scarf and a pink backpack featuring a horse print design from Cath Kidston.

Charlotte, younger sister to George, will turn three in May.

According to its website, Willcocks is a "traditional nursery school which strives to maintain its ethos for high standards, excellence and good manners".

Charlotte will be a full-time pupil at the school.

Meanwhile the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have opted to send their first born Prince George to the rather posh south London school St Thomas's of Battersea, which costs £17,000-a-year.

The school was founded in 1964 and has been at its current location near the Royal Albert Hall since 1984.

"We look forward to welcoming Charlotte to our nursery".

"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share two photographs of Princess Charlotte at Kensington Palace this morning", the palace captioned the photos.
