LG 88-inch 8K OLED TV is ready for CES 2018

LG just unveiled the world’s largest and highest-resolution OLED display
The 88-in surpasses the current largest OLED screen by 11-in and massively ups its resolution to 7680 x 4320. Of course, bearing in mind how incredible LG's latest OLED TVs are, there's a very good chance this new panel is the most impressive display panel the world has ever seen, period.
Notably, from previous reports, we have heard that LG Display has made huge investments to ensure its supremacy in the market by ramping up OLED production capacity.
Upcoming CES would witness the showcasing of massive 88-inch OLED TV from the South Korean manufacturers. An 88-inch OLED panel is the largest OLED display to date.
LG Display announced, on January 1, the world's first 88-inch organic light emitting diode (OLED) display panel with 8K picture quality four times brighter than ultra-high definition (UHD) display panels now available. The 32-inch 4K monitor will be the first from LG to offer the company's advanced Nano IPS technology, which relies on "nanometer-sized particles to the screen's LED to absorb excess light wavelengths" and thus improve the visual experience on the display.
As we said, this is an experimental 4K TV and really exists more for the sheer public relations value it creates, so don't hold your breath for 8K OLED hitting the shelves or Amazon listings any time soon in 2018.
"The 8K OLED displays can also maintain their slimmer design, as the self-emissive OLEDs do not need backlight units". From what we have heard so far, the display boasts 33 million pixels, four times that of 3,840x2,160 ultra high definition and 16 times more pixels than 1,920x1,080 full high definition. "LCDs with 8K resolution, however, inevitably get heavier and thicker because backlight units need to be placed directly behind the panels to achieve the same level of brightness and picture quality as 4K products". At $20,000, the company's 77-inch 4K product is already beyond what most consumers would be willing to pay for.
