Roy Moore accuser admits she forged part of yearbook inscription attributed to Alabama senate candidate
Allred reiterated Nelson's willingness to testify under oath to the U.S. Senate about her experience with Moore.
Nelson accused Moore of sexually assaulting her when she was 16. "Nelson admits she did make notes to the inscription", ABC News reported. She and attorney Gloria Allred are scheduled for a press conference, where they'll show evidence they say proves Moore knew Nelson at the time. "And he signed it ' Roy Moore D.A'". "Beverly indicates that she added that to remind herself of who Roy Moore was and where and when Mr. Moore signed her yearbook", she stated.
Nelson, one of several women who have accused Moore of sexual misconduct in recent weeks, alleged that Moore groped her and tried to force himself on her while in his auto. ABC's Tom Llamas asked during the interview aired today.
The note from Moore read, "To a sweeter more handsome girl I could not say Merry Christmas".
Beverly Nelson's high school yearbook has become key evidence supporting her claim that the 34-year-old prosecutor was a regular at the Olde Hickory House restaurant where she worked as a teenager - and where she says he attacked her in his vehicle after she accepted his offer of a ride home one cold winter night.
Her notes say "12-22-77" and "Olde Hickory House", the restaurant where Nelson worked and where she said the GOP Alabama Senate candidate was at that time a frequent customer.
"When he was on the bench, his assistant whose initials are capital D. A. Delbra Adams would stamp his signature on a document and put capital D. A. That's exactly how this signature appears on the divorce decree that Judge Moore signed dismissing the divorce action of Beverly Nelson".
"Let's count how many national outlets will ignore the fact that she admits to lying", Moore wrote above the tweet. That text consists of the location, the date and the initials "D.A." after the signature that Nelson says is Moore's. She told CNN's Wolf Blitzer she would welcome an expert analysis of the yearbook message so long as it took place in a Senate hearing.
Nelson tells a different story.
The Moore campaign previously attacked the credibility of Nelson's account by pointing out the difference in writing styles in the inscription.
Moore's legal team has called on Allred and Nelson to release the yearbook so the signature in question can be independently examined. Despite the allegations, Moore has continued to run for office, with support from Republicans, including President Donald Trump. The election is Tuesday.
