Overwatch's Winter Wonderland event returns December 12

Overwatch Winter Wonderland event is back with an exciting game mode

As happened a year ago, the winter holiday event, Overwatch Winter Wonderland will also take place this month, bringing a new PvE mode, new skins, and cosmetics for all Overwatch Heroes. One such game is Overwatch, which will host its Winter Wonderland event for the second year in the row beginning next week.

Now about the skins, Overwatch game director Jeff Kaplan has confirmed that a ton of them will be up for grabs, including legendary ones and a "long-awaited Hanzo skin" that turned up in one of the Overwatch comics before. Aside from the brawls, legendary skins themed after the yuletide season are also making their way. Items from the previous year will be discounted and cheaper than the new items, similar to this year's Halloween event which also features the previous Halloween themed collections at a discounted rate. In an effort to make the limited-time event more balanced for the slow moving Meis, the Chinese climatologists can make use of an exclusive new ability, placing down an ice trap for the unsuspecting Yeti to get stuck in. All the new skins will appear alongside last year's skins so you can potentially hoover up any that you missed last time around.

Finally, a completely new game mode will be Mei's Yeti Hunt - an asymmetrical 1 v 5 boss fight. What's new here is it's expanding to the Black Forest map too, and a change in scenery is always a nice addition to have.

All in all, Mei's Yeti Hunt sounds like a blast.

The new mode is called "Mei's Yeti Hunt", and it sees a team of five Meis trying to bring down one super-charged Winston. Winston will be running around the map eating pieces of meat which fuel his Primal Rage.

The return of Overwatch's Winer Wonderland event has officially been announced by developer Blizzard and we already got a small taste of what we can expect.
