Court filings say that a "senior" official in Trump's post-election transition team told him to contact officials from other governments, including Russian Federation, meaning that Special Counsel Robert Mueller's office will be looking at high-level aides and perhaps the president himself.

Trump was asked by reporters while departing the White House to NY for a fundraiser whether he was anxious what Flynn would tell special counsel Robert Mueller and his investigation looking into Russia's efforts to influence last year's election.

The existence of the text messages was brought to the attention of Mueller's office by the inspector general's office, which has been conducting a wide-ranging investigation of the FBI's handling of the Clinton email case.

Current and former Federal Bureau of Investigation officials say the Strzok matter points to a larger unresolved issue facing the agency as it tries to investigate the president and make a fresh start with a new director, Christopher Wray.

Brushing aside an ongoing Russian Federation probe, President Donald Trump reveled Saturday in the Senate's passage of a sweeping tax bill, predicting with swagger that he and his fellow Republicans were "unbeatable". Three times, Trump told reporters it's been shown that there's "no collusion".

A former Justice Department official under President Obama said Saturday that President Trump "admitted to obstruction of justice" in a tweet.

The cooperation of Flynn, a senior campaign official and former top adviser on national security, could lead to inside information critical to Mueller's probe. No collusion. There's been absolutely, absolutely no collusion, so we're very happy.

CNN reported that a source familiar with the investigation said Kushner is the "very senior" transition official mentioned in the documents.

Spicer's comments indicated Flynn's ouster was driven by Trump's frustration that the adviser had misled Vice President Pence and others and not the fact he discussed sanctions with then-Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.

A few hours later, Mr. Strzok and his team were back in Mr. Comey's conference room for a final briefing: Only about 3,000 emails had been potentially work-related. It seems he's feeling smug about the turn of events at the White House.

While the mainstream media goes around in circles desperately seeking evidence of wrongdoing in the Trump administration, it turns out a scandal of major import was under their noses all along.

Trump was greeted in NY by protesters chanting "Lock him up", a reference to the "Lock her up" rallying cry used by both Trump and Flynn during the 2016 campaign.
