Now, it looks like WhatsApp for iPhone has got two new features - one is the ability to watch YouTube videos within a conversation and the other is the ability to lock recording in order to record a voice message without holding the button throughout the recording. It is similar to the YouTube Android app, but it is lightweight, with the option to download and save videos for offline viewing.

Users can also jump between different chats without the clip pausing or closing, The Independent reports.

The team that spends countless hours in making Whatsapp more intuitive and feature rich took a long beak for Thanksgiving but they are back to work and has already rolled out some interesting new additions.

The latest update can also help you record long messages easily. This feature will be useful for people who use the WhatsApp record feature frequently.

Earlier, when a user would share any Youtube videos on their WhatsApp chat, the video would open in the YouTube app.

Spotted by WABetaInfo, the new WhatsApp for iPhone v2.17.81 is now available for download on the App Store with the details regarding the changes available in the What's New section.

The App Store description further read, "Want to easily record long Voice Messages?" Users can also preview a video before downloading. With this feature, you can lock the recording, so that you can leave the record button. "When recording a Voice Message, just swipe up to lock recordings, so you can continue to record without keeping your finger down", read the description.

Well, with locked recordings, a new lock icon will appear when you tap the mic button to record voice message. The new feature allows the users to play the video in a picture-in-picture mode wherein the video's window can be resized and adjusted as per the user's preference. Apparently, the rollout of the new feature in the WhatsApp update will be a great boon to the users.
