Ivanka Trump to visit Golkonda Fort but skip Charminar over security concerns
# Today, more than 11 million women in the U.S. own businesses.
"It's great that Ivanka Trump is promoting entrepreneurship in India, but the administration's action on the International Entrepreneur Rule is really harming entrepreneurship here in our country", Farrah told CBS News. "We must ensure women entrepreneurs have access to capital, access to networks and mentors", Ivanka said to loud cheers from a packed audience in a heavily-guarded conference centre. The senior White House adviser has always been considered a sort of whisperer when it comes to her powerful father.
The gathering, co-hosted by the USA and India, comes as the two countries appear to be working to strengthen ties. More than half the participants at the summit are women, and all-female delegations are representing countries such as Afghanistan, Israel and Saudi Arabia. "This year's summit is focussed on a theme that is key to our future: Women First, Prosperity For All".
Trump's visit was treated like a royal affair in India, and Hyderabad prepped for her by cleaning up its streets, banning begging and shuffling thousands of street people into shelters or rehab.
"I am proud that for the first time ever, women make up the majority of the 1,500 entrepreneurs selected to attend", she said.
Billboards with pictures of Ivanka dotted many parts of Hyderabad which is also home to major United States firms such as Microsoft.
She praised her father's administration, saying it promotes greater opportunity for women around the world through "domestic reforms and our global initiatives".
Trump, who is leading the USA delegation to the conference, said, "Here in India I want to applaud Prime Minister Modi for his firm belief that progress of humanity is incomplete without the empowerment of women".
Furthermore, Trump's visit is far better than if her father had gone to India. She felt that women are more likely than men to hire other women, and are also more likely to reinvest their income back in their families and communities.
