Trump calls on NFL to suspend Marshawn Lynch
President Donald Trump has returned from his trip to Asia and has picked up where he left off in his feud with National Football League players.
On Sunday, the Oakland Raiders were taking on the New England Patriots in Azteca Stadium in Mexico City and the Raiders running back sat during the USA anthem and stood for the Mexican anthem, the New York Post reports. Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf said, in reference to President Trump, "The bully-in-chief needs to worry about his own approval ratings and stop picking on people". And while he stood for the Mexican anthem, he was not completely at attention. "Attendance and ratings way down", Trump tweeted Monday morning. Lynch had time when it came to the recitation of "Mexicans, at the cry of war".
"According to Raiders coach Jack Del Rio, "[Lynch] said, 'This is something I've done for 11 years.
"I'm pretty sure Marshawn just laughed it off", said Penn. As Deadspin notes, it appears as though Lynch was getting his equipment strapped on during it.
Linda Del Rio's tweet stated "President Trump I voted for you, which I now regret".
Campbell sees what Lynch did as working against what former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick was trying to do when he began kneeling during the national anthem.
Your take on this entire scenario will probably depend on how you feel about Marcus Peters, Marshawn Lynch and the national anthem controversy that's enveloped the NFL over the last several weeks. "I think that's really what she was saying, but I can't speak for her".
