This is the Cavaliers 39th consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament, which is the longest active streak in the country.

After winning their conference championships over the weekend, William and Mary and Old Dominion were awarded first-round home games in the NCAA men's soccer tournament when the pairings were announced Monday.

With the berth, Virginia earned a first round bye in this season's tournament.

Maryland will make its 35th NCAA Tournament appearance after ending the season with a 10-5-3 record.

The Spartans have lost only one game at DeMartin Stadium in the last two seasons.


Louisville is the highest seeded team in its regional, which also includes Akron, Notre Dame and MI.

Other ACC members in the top 16, all receiving first-round byes, are No. 3 North Carolina, No. 6 Duke, No. 8 Clemson, No.11 Virginia and No. 12 Notre Dame.

UIC (11-5-3) secured the automatic NCAA bid from the Horizon League for the second straight season after defeating top-seeded Green Bay 2-0 on November 11 in the conference tournament final.

Eight of Louisville's 17 matches in 2017 were played against NCAA Championship qualifiers with the Cardinals registering a 4-2-2 record in those contests. The Flames had previously downed Cleveland State 3-1 during the semifinal round on their way to claiming the fifth conference tournament championship victory in program history. The 2017 NCAA College Cup will be contested on December 8 (national semifinals) and December 10 (national final) at Talen Energy Stadium in Philadelphia, live on ESPN2.
