Cynthia Marie Randolph, 24, was jailed Friday on two counts of causing serious bodily harm to a child.

It happened May 26 in Parker County when the mother found her children playing inside the auto, according to the Parker County Sheriff's Office. When they refused to get out, she closed the door to "teach them a lesson".

A report via wfaa told of the mother putting the children inside the vehicle before going inside the family home and smoking marijuana before taking a nap for two to three hours.

But when she was arrested Friday, police said Randolph admitted to officers that she locked the children inside the vehicle on objective. Even though, my mom could be completely nuts, she would never try to teach my brother and I a lesson by leaving us defenseless in a hot locked auto.

A Texas mother has been arrested for the deaths of her two toddlers who she said were left in a hot vehicle to teach the older child a lesson while the woman smoked marijuana and took a nap, authorities said.

As part of that story, Randolph claimed that she had been folding laundry and watching television when she realized that she could not hear the children playing anymore in an enclosed porch. Eventually, Randolph admitted to the Parker County police after she realized her two children had died inside the hot auto, she smashed the vehicle's window in order to make it look more like they had gotten inside it and despite her attempts to rescue them, they had died by accident. She said that she broke the window in an attempt to rescue her children and called 911. Her bond is set at $100,000, according to Parker County Jail records. The temperature was close to 96 Fahrenheit (36 Celsius) and emergency personnel that Randolph had called pronounced the children dead at the scene, the court filing said. According to the data, an average of 37 children die in hot cars annually in the United States.
